Twenty-five countries are planning to participate in the upcoming Eindhoven Box Cup which will be held in the city of Eindhoven on May 26-30. Four out of the five Confederations will send female and male boxers to the Eindhoven Box Cup this year.

Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Cape Verde, Curacao, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Kuwait, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, the host Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, and Ukraine registered to participate in the new Eindhoven Box Cup.  

The Women’s World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Chelsey Heijnen and their male No.1, Gradus Kraus will lead the Dutch team in Eindhoven. Mozambique has an excellent team and their stars in the event will be the World medallists, Alcinda Panguane and Rady Adosinda Gramane in the female part of the competition.

Ireland’s EUBC European U22 Champion Niamh Fay (54kg) and the Elite silver medallist Caitlin Fryers (50kg) are top women boxers. Montenegro’s Bojana Gojkovic (54kg), Serbia’s Olympic Games quarter-finalist Nina Radovanovic (50kg), Morocco’s Oumayma Bel Ahbib (66kg), Slovakia’s Nikol Durikova (50kg) and Sweden’s experienced Love Holgersson (75kg) all will be on the board of the event. 

France’s medallists from top championships such as Samuel Kistohurry (men’s 57kg) and Mathieu Bauderlique (men’s 80kg) both will be there in the start of the Eindhoven Box Cup. Two reigning European Champions as Belgium’s Vasile Usturoi (57kg) and Germany’s Nelvie Tiafack (+92kg) will strengthen the competition. Ukraine’s Aider Abduraimov (57kg), Ruslan Tsykalo (60kg), Danylo Dryzhak (63.5kg), Yaroslav Mykhalushko (71kg), Bogdan Tolmachov (86kg) and Vasyl Tkachuk (+92kg) all are medallists from previous championships.

The Netherlands’ main international elite tournament has a strong brand name despite the event is young in comparison to the other European competitions. The day of the arrival to the new edition is May 26 for the competition and the departure is May 30 from Eindhoven. The competition venue is the 4-stars Hotel Van der Valk Eindhoven that is only 10 minutes driving from the Eindhoven International Airport.

The new Eindhoven Box Cup will be a preparation event for several boxers on their road to the European Games and other top upcoming championships such as the AFBC African Elite Boxing Championships, the Asian Games, and the Panamerican Games.
